TESTIMONIALS

Here are a Few Testimonials from people whose stories I have helped create:

“Don put me totally at ease and I was able talk about a time that has a lot of meaning for me. I love having My Story to share with family and friends!”  ~Susan Thomas

"I really enjoyed the process and the result is a story I have often thought about but rarely shared. My family loved reading it! Now I am inspired to do more stories, and maybe I will write that book!”  ~Sharon Hardy

“There are no coincidences in this life. The definition of a coincidence as given by The Free Dictionary is: ‘The state or fact of occupying the same relative position or area in space.’ I met Dr. Schwartz because he mistakenly went to the property where I was working. He was looking for a different development.

My life has been jam-packed full of excruciatingly trying and traumatic events that surprise most people into a state of shock when they hear the gruesome details. I have only seen a professional therapist once when I was a child. I told him that my siblings and I were crawling under his building with extension cords in our mouths to plug into a secret outlet in the mental health building attached to our house. When he learned about this, he said he couldn’t listen to me anymore.

It wasn’t until I was an adult that I understood that if he continued to listen to my stories he would have to call CPS, and that our family would have been broken up and sent to foster homes.

When Dr. Schwartz walked into my building I overheard him telling our receptionist about his new Tell Your Story service, and that he was offering our community a complimentary session. I practically grabbed him and said ‘I’ll take it.’

I told him just a tidbit of my life story. He was visibly fascinated by what I had to say. Dr. Schwartz made me feel as though what I had experienced and what I had to say was important. He said that all of the sadness, moving and deaths that I have experienced was not normal, that I was victimized, and that these experiences were different forms of abuse.

Of course, I have always known this, but to hear it from a distinguished personal historian with a psychology background made all of the difference in the world to me. Because of his help, and the candid way in which he speaks, Dr. Schwartz helped me and inspired me to continue on to write my story, a book that hopefully will heal and inspire people to know that they, too, can be successful in this life.”  ~Joan R.
